Celebrar la EQUIDAD en las Áreas Protegidas y Conservadas.

En el día 26 de junio 2020, la Red de Jóvenes Líderes en Áreas Protegidas y
Conservadas de América Latina y el Caribe (RELLAC-Joven) promovió el webinar “Celebrar a las áreas protegidas para la equidad - Desafío 17 octubre 2020”.
“El webinar es parte de la alianza que RELLACJoven construyó para celebrar a las áreas protegidas (AP) y conservadas de Latinoamérica y el Caribe (LAC), porque entendemos que son importantes mecanismos para la
conservación de la naturaleza"
Las AP y C tienen servicios ecosistémicos esenciales para promover e el bienestar, calidad
de vida y salud para las poblaciones.
Para la discusión, tuvimos como panelistas Claudio Maretti (Conservación Colaborativa,
Coordinador general III CAPLAC), Allan Valverde (Director ELAP - UCI), Ana Julia Gómez (Red de Mujeres en Conservación LAC / Celebración AP LAC), Brenda Luna (RELLAC-J-COBI), como facilitadores Adriel Magnetti y Natália Silvério, ambos de RELLAC-J, y la participación de Juan Carlos Pacheco (Fundación Áreas Protegidas - Chile) para invitar a todos a integrarse a la alianza para la Celebración de las AP de LAC
Creemos que es importante promover la inclusión y la participación de los jóvenes en la
Celebración de las AP en LAC porque ellos hacen uso de esas áreas, hacen parte de la gestión y tienen mucho para contribuir. Sin embargo, sabemos que tenemos trabajo por delante para promover la equidad en las AP de LAC: tenemos que visibilizar y fortalecer la actuación de los jóvenes. Por eso, el webinar ha traído a la discusión el trabajo intergeneracional en la gestión de las AP y la conservación colaborativa para buscar la igualdad en las AP.
También fué discutido como aportar a la comunicación en la gestión de las AP y la biodiversidad para la equidad de género y la educación basada en competencias hacia la
igualdad como una premisa para la gestión de las AP.
