Ambassadors are local leaders who promote and support celebrations—activities or projects—linked to Protected and Conserved Areas within their contexts.
Their role is key to identifying, organizing, and strengthening local experiences in coordination with local stakeholders.
Ambassadors contribute to:
-
Identifying celebrations linked to the conservation priorities of Protected and Conserved Areas in their territory.
-
Supporting their organization based on actual management priorities.
-
Recording and validating information using shared tools.
-
Participating in spaces for exchange and learning.
-
Promoting connections with local stakeholders and collaborations to sustain processes.
-
Establishing their leadership in the region and raising the profile of efforts at the local, regional, and global levels, particularly around October 17, “LAC Protected and Conserved Areas Day.”
